Home sweet home

Hello MTV welcome to my crib! For our week of rural placement we stayed in an "emptied out" classroom. We pushed together some old mattresses, slept in sleeping bags and pushed the teacher's desk against the wall, which acted as our pantry.

Our kitchen, shower and laundry room was located outside of the schoolhouse. We used giant washbasins and used some classroom desks for our kitchen tables/counters.

Our bathroom was an outhouse behind the school. Luckily, we had a toilet (without a seat) as opposed to a hole in the ground, but we had to manually flush it by throwing water into the basin.

Apart from Claire's entrepreneurial endeavors involving old water bottles, our showers consisted of industrial wipe downs with baby wipes, which only occurred twice throughout the whole time we were at Kazemba. Mollie and I calculated that we went a whole nine days without showering, shaving our legs and washing our hair.
