The sun sets between half four and half five here. Once the sun is gone, there are no lights. A single solar panel powers the whole school house, so we mainly used our headlamps.

We started cooking dinner on the brasiers at around half four, so that we could eat before it got too dark. The first couple nights we ate vegetable stews with rice, but as the week progressed, it rapidly turned into noodles or boiled potatoes.

We had fun constructing the brasiers and building fires out of coals, kindling, leaves, plastics and terrible quality matches.
